Everlasting Gospel
First lesson Matthew 10:8
“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. You all are preachers:”
Second lesson James 3:1
"My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.”
Golden text: 1 Peter 4:17.
"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”
2.1 My dear brethren
This is to remind you of what you have heard already. Our first lesson says that all work must be free. This is the work of God. It does not therefore mean that God's work is the hardest. Rather it is the easiest, provided you follow this gospel.
2.2 Work freely for the Father
It is a warning that the work of God should be done free of charge. Those people who receive fees are not really doing His work but theirs. Whether you cleanse the leper or raise the dead to life; freely you received the power and freely you must give. God does not charge us anything for the life He gave us. He gives us eyes, tongues, ears, children, husband, wives, sun, moon, rain, air, everything, free of charge. Is there any reason why we should sell any of these things? I am sure that if all these gifts were to be bought with money, none would be able to buy.
First lesson Matthew 10:8
“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. You all are preachers:”
When some people hear this gospel, they may thank God that they are not preachers bound to preach and heal freely. But I am telling you that a husband in the house is a preacher. He is preaching to his wife, servants, and all the rest of his household. In the same way, a wife is a worker of God, a mother for the sake of the gospel.
2.3 Payment of dowry
Many people shall be judged for not allowing their children or wives to help others freely. No person should be sold. That is why some towns do not receive bride price for their daughters in marriage.
In some places, land is free. Yes. it should be so. Think whether there is any reason to sell what God has given freely.
The Holy Spirit is given us as a free gift from God. It is not bought with money. The gift of healing, vision, prophecy, praying, admonition, preaching are all given freely, and we ought to serve others freely with them.
In view of the many gifts we receive, we owe mankind much service. Therefore everybody including the smallest child is a shepherd and preacher, in as much as he is bound to give freely what he has received freely from God.
Second lesson James 3:1
"My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.”
2.4 Judgment goes on, on the road
Two children are going along the road; one is teaching the other. Judgment has started between them. This does not mean that teaching is evil. But the question is: do you do it freely. People who fail to preach this gospel suffer a lot. Most people who claim to be teachers or preachers have no reason to be ignorant of why they suffer.
2.5 Sell not what is given freely to you
They cheat God by selling to men the gift of the Holy Spirit which they received freely from God. If the assignment of being masters is imposed upon us, we should therefore be careful. Any elder, husband, wife, bishop evangelist or prophet should be careful to administer freely to the needs of our fellow creatures for fear of condemnation.
If you are a teacher, do not subtract or add: give all freely what knowledge you have of God. This includes your doing what you teach, lest you shall be judged.
2.6 Like a teacher like a captain
A teacher of the gospel is like a captain of a ship. His own soul is not the only one in the ship. If he is careless and the ship goes on the rock, he will account for the lost souls.
Golden text: 1 Peter 4:17
"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"
2.7 Judgment starts in the church
Everybody who is in the Church should be prepared because judgment shall start there. If you are outside, do not thank your luck that you are free from judgment, for a greater judgment awaits you.
2.8 Man is the church
Many people wonder why Christians should suffer many things. God likes them, and because they are the house of God, judgment has started with them already. God chastises those whom He loves. That is why we should not say that sufferings or temptations should not come to us.
2.9 Old prophets were judged
God loved Job and started His judgment with him. Abraham was also tried by God. These were real judgment. All the prophets of old were likewise judged. Those who stood firm in temptation were justified. Those who did not, were condemned.
2.10 You are not a Christian by shouting lord, lord
Therefore, do not claim to be a man of God simply by shouting Lord, Lord. Practise the word of God and you will be justified. Stand firm in temptation because those who are of Christ are the first to be tried.
2.11 The fate of undecided Christians
I wonder why a Christian should say he will go back to the world when he has known that the judgment awaiting the world is more terrible. Why should the churches be proud when they know that judgment will start with them in order to sort out those wolves in the sheep's skin?
I say unto you: Anybody who obeys God and does the gospel of Christ will not be judged. May God bless His holy words. Amen.
THANK YOU FATHER
