Everlasting Gospel
First lesson; Matthew 10:42
"And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.”
Second lesson: Matthew 19: 21
“Jesus said unto him, if thou wilt be perfect, go and sell all that thou hast and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come and follow me”
Golden Text: Matthew 25: 34 - 35
"Then shall the king say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungered and ye gave me meat. I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger and ye took me in.”
You can now see the shortest way into the Kingdom of God, instead of attending a Seminary, reading the Bible from cover to cover, fasting and praying and doing many other things in order to enter into the Kingdom of heaven. One who complies with this gospel will get there before you and will be waiting for you to finish what you are doing. You have heard the statement of our Lord Jesus Christ which says, "if thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor”. Who are the poor? They are the servants of God.
10.1 Honour God with your substance
They are called the poor saints. Many whitemen really understand this gospel that is why they can will their estates and money to the service of God and for the workers of God. Since you do not understand why they should do this, you are still bent on being a millionaire for your needs only.
Many Brotherhood of the Cross and Star members understand this issue that is why you find them helping the workers of God. This Kingdom does not belong to any other set of people but to them. Yesterday's gospel was about helping those who are in the service of God. Today's gospel is about the reward of those who support the servants of God. People think that when they see visions, preach the word of God and extract charms from people's bodies, they feel that is all. You are to help those who are in the service of God, and that is your greatest duty. Those who do this have the greatest reward.
He said, “I was hungry and you gave me food; I was a stranger and ye took me in, naked and ye clothed me, I was sick and, ye visited me”; that was all that the righteous did. And you have heard their reward. “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world”. These are the poor saints but those who want to become rich are devoid of this blessing. I am not talking about those who spend their money on prostitutes, and drinks, and necromancers. I do not also refer to those who spend their money to initiate themselves into the Ekpe, Obon or any other secret cult, but I am referring to those who use their money in helping those who are serving God. They will enter into the Kingdom of God before you. Our Lord Jesus Christ says, “in my Father's house there are many mansions”. This is the mansion that is kept for those who utilize their substance in helping the workers of God. Now you want to be a preacher, a visioner, and a charm-remover but realise that faith without work is dead.
10.2 More blessed to give than to receive
When you go to pray for somebody, after the prayer you beg him for some money to pay your way back, have you not disgraced God? Do you not hear that it is more blessed to give than to receive? When you offer prayers to somebody and he gives you money, food and clothes, do you think you have equal blessing with him? He has a greater blessing because he has passed into the Kingdom. What is it that projects this work of God? If a millionaire comes in here today and donates millions of naira to God, we will have food, clothes and houses and every good thing in abundance and so the work will progress. The work slacks because there is no food. The whites have gone far in this direction. When they see any worker of God, they are ready to give a hundred million naira to help him. Do you think they are foolish. It is because of this promise that they do it. They know the position that has been kept for all those who help the workers of God. This Kingdom was prepared for them from the foundation of the world.
10.3 Billy Graham and the United States of America government
It is only here that people do not regard the servants of God. In Europe and North America, you find that millionaires and billionaires will their money to churches for the upliftment of the work of God. That is why the churches are the richest institutions. The American government bought aircrafts for Billy Graham's Evangelical work. Do you think that they are fools? It is because they believe in the essence of this gospel and they know the position which is kept for those who help servants of God. This position has already been prepared for them. After you must have finished preaching you will take your place after them. What else in this world do you think is more useful than food and money to assist the servant of God? If you want to go to Lagos and you cannot pay your fare, are you going to fly there with your wings? Somebody sends you a letter from London that you should go and preach the word of God to them but you have no transport money, no food and clothings to take there, how are you going there?
10.4 The Jehovah Witness
The Jehovah Witnesses sect you are seeing today were banned by the government as far back as 1920. The hardship and persecution they have passed through cannot be told, even among the whites. A certain member was taken to court and during his trial he started quoting the Scriptures to the presiding judge. As God would have it, the judge was converted and he resigned from his office as a judge. As a billionaire he voted all his money into the service of God in Jehovah Witnesses. Do you find them having any problem with money? They are richer than the government of some countries. Because of their money, they are no longer banned. And now they have opened their own printing press where they print their publications in millions. This is by way of digression. The position God has kept for those who help the servants of God is what you have heard today. And I do not think I have delivered this gospel before.
10.5 Kinds of reward
The position which God has kept for the preachers is different. I am not dealing on that today. Yesterday I talked about helping those who are serving God. Today I am dealing with the benefits, accruing to all those who show kindness to the servants of God. This reward is very sure. You have heard it said that every man shall be rewarded according to his works. The prophets shall receive the prophet's reward. The righteous shall receive the reward of the righteous. The witnesses to this Kingdom will also receive their reward. Those who honour God shall receive their due reward. And all those who destroy the earth shall be destroyed. Many Brotherhood know this truth because God has revealed it to them. That is why they do not joke with the workers of God in their stations. They are even prepared to stay .hungry so that a worker of God may eat. You begin to wonder why they do this especially as they have got no issues and are not healed of their sicknesses. It is because they believe in this gospel. And they know the position that has been kept from the foundations of the world for all those who show kindness and benevolence to the workers of God.
10.6 Lay your treasures in heaven
You will hear that somebody has left a very large sum of money to the church and you ask, what foolishness is that? Why does he not use the money on all the beautiful women around? Why does he not build a storey building for himself or use the money to initiate himself into the ekpe cult. If he did any of these, he would have sustained losses. You are told to lay your treasures in heaven (because the wealth of this world is a loss) where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt and where thieves do not break in to steal. Wherever your treasure is there will your heart be. All those who help the workers of God, a place of glory has been prepared for them. You will be surprised to find somebody who has not known you before, you have never prayed for him or given him visions, but on knowing that you are a servant of God, he gives you money and other material blessings. Do not be surprised. He is doing this because he knows the position which is kept for all those who are kind to the servants of God.
10.7 Remember the poor
You know the chorus that there is no disappointment in Jesus. There is also no disappointment in this gospel. All those who help the workers of God, there is no disappointment for them. When Paul and Barnabbas met Peter, James and John, they were given the right hand of fellowship. All that Peter told them was to remember the poor which thing Paul was forward in doing. It is for this reason that a worker of God must have a trade so that he may have some means to help the poor and also secure good position for himself. You have heard what is written in James 2:14-16 It says: If you go to offer prayers to a sick man and he is well, but he has no food and no clothinqs and you tell him to go in peace, that God may be with him, what kind of gospel is that? Of what help have you been to him? You say that you want to do the work of God but here is a sick person, he has no food or clothes. You pray for him and he is well. Tell me how you have helped him when he has no food to eat nor clothes to put on. What work of God is that? After preaching the word of God, the train you want to board is taking off and you have no ticket and no money to buy one, tell me what else you are going to preach? You will be troubled in mind.
This can be likened to a situation where you have a car and a driver, and you have packed everything into your car ready for ministry work but you have no fuel in the car. What are you going to do? Will you carry your load on your head? If a preacher has a reward do you not realise that the person who helps him has a greater reward? That is why you are advised that if you have a believing master, you should not despise him but rather do more service to him because you are the person who will gain the more from him. People think that picking up the Bible and claiming that they want to do the work of God is all, but when they go out they snatch people's wives and husbands, collect money, build houses and buy cars. Do you think that they are saved? They are lost.. Paul knew this, that was why he was a tent maker so that he may have what to eat and also give to the poor. Even though the other apostles did not do this, he was doing it. That was why he asked, do you think 1 have the right to live as the other apostles are living? Let our first, lesson be read.
First lesson: Matthew 10:42
"And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.”
10.8 Always entertain strangers
Brethren, have you heard that? That is why we are told in Hebrews not to be forgetful in entertaining strangers for in so doing many have entertained angels unawares. You remember when two persons visited Abraham, he entreated them to call at his house and rest a while. He did not lose time in ordering Sarah to prepare food for them. He did not know that they were angels. After they had eaten they told Abraham that Sarah will conceive and have a child. When Sarah over-heard this, she laughed because she considered her bareness and the fact that she had already passed the age of menopause.
It was when they were about to leave that they told Abraham about their mission, that they were going to destroy the two cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham asked them whether they will destroy the city, if they found fifty righteous men in it. The Lord told him that he will not destroy the cities for the sake of the fifty righteous men. Abraham bargained down to ten righteous men and the Lord told him that He will not destroy them for the sake of ten righteous men. What Abraham did not ask was if God would still destroy the city if He found one righteous man in it. All he said finally was that the Lord should remember his nephew Lot.
10.9 Result of wickedness
After they had departed from Abraham, God sent the two angels to the two cities and disappeared. When the two angels appeared, they were regarded as mere human beings. No one knew that they were angels. That is why I tell you that God is human. I do not know why you should think that God is a tree or a rock. When Lot saw the two men, he invited them to his house and asked his wife to prepare food for them. They went in and sat on table and ate. The citizens of the two cities, in order to betray their wickedness, came out as a group and asked Lot to release the two strangers for them to kill. The two men did not do anything worthy of death. The people did not even know the strangers nor their intention and yet they, the citizens, wanted to kill them. As they continued to press, Lot offered to give to them his two daughters who were pure virgins instead of the strangers. But they told Lot that was his business. All they wanted were the two strangers. Finally the angels asked Lot to allow them in. When Lot opened the door of the house, they all scrambled in and started searching for the men. The two angels were on the table eating and laughing but unseen by their enemies. Finally the people went out since they could not find the men.
It was there and then that the angels told Lot to take his family and flee the city immediately because God was bent on destroying the cities. Lot did not see the urgency in their mission and so the angels had to force him out warning them not to carry anything nor look back as they were leaving the city. And you have been told that the rich cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That was what happened to Lot's wife. She loved the things of this world and when she remembered her box of trinkets, she looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt. The two cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. Do you think that if the people of Sodom Gomorrah had received the two angels and entertained them, that God would have destroyed them? Do you not realise the blessings which Abraham received by entertaining the angels? Sarah his wife was given a child and his nephew Lot was spared. Do you not realise that Lot was saved by his good deeds, when he showed kindness to the strangers and entertained them, even though he did not know them to be angels. You cannot ascertain the blessings derivable from helping the servants of God.
10.10 Melchizedek blessed Abraham because of his kindness
Also recall to mind what happened when Abraham returned from the slaughter of the Kings. On his way back he met Melchizedek, the priest of the Most High God. And he gave to Melchizedek a tenth of all the spoils of war. It was for this reason that Melchizedek blessed him. It was because of this blessing that Abraham became the father of many nations till today. Do you think he would have received this blessing if he did not give anything to Melchizedek but simply told him to go in peace? It was because of the kindness which he showed to the priest of God that he was blessed and remained blessed till today.
10.11 The blessing of Isaac
You also remember what happened between the two sons, Esau and Jacob; Esau was a hunter and he used to bring his game to his father Isaac. For this reason Isaac loved him more than Jacob. Jacob remained with his mother and was truthful to her. There was competition between the two. Since Rebecca had no daughter she regarded Jacob as her daughter and loved him more than Esau. When Isaac wanted to bless Esau, he told him to go and prepare the best meal which he loved most and bring it to him, that after eating he may bless him. Why did he not ask Esau to come and receive the blessing free? He wanted to eat first and be satisfied and happy so that he can shower the blessings. When Esau went to kill some animal to prepare the food, Rebecca who loved Jacob had overheard them. She quickly went to Jacob and asked him to prepare himself for the blessings.
She took a young healthy sheep and prepared a delicious meal for Isaac. When Jacob argued that he will be found out because he was not as hairy as Esau, his mother used the sheep skin to cover him. Jacob went with the food and told Isaac his father that the food he asked for was ready, Isaac quickly knew the voice not to be that of Esau but of Jacob. And so he asked him to draw near to him. When he felt his skin he said that the body is indeed that of Esau but the voice is that of Jacob. Since he had no cause to suspect a fowl play, he ate the food and blessed Jacob. It was when Esau returned with his meat that Isaac discovered that he had been tricked. There was nothing else he could do. He had already taken the bait. Did Jacob not fulfill the condition? He has shown kindness to a man of God and so he deserved the blessing. That is why I tell you that the blessings that follow those who show kindness and benevolence to the workers of God is very great indeed. There is no other way you can receive blessing from the hands of God than helping those who are in the service of God.
10.12 The kindness of the fourth wise man
You have been hearing the story of the three wisemen. In fact they were four. They were rich men and they were also Jesus Christ worshippers. They knew when the child would be born and so they sold all their wealth and waited for the time of his birth. When the child was born they all set out from their respective domains and agreed to meet at a particular place so that they could set out for the journey together. On his way the fourth wise man came across a Hebrew lying half-dead across the road. On seeing a shadow, he stopped his ass and went to see what was there. He bent over the unconscious man and did not know what to do. If he stayed to help him, the other three would leave him behind. If he left this sick man he would surely die. He knelt down and prayed to God to show him what to do. That is why you are told that whoever walks in the spirit does not err. The Holy Spirit instructed him to wait and help the sick man. He obeyed the voice within and took wine from his bag and poured it on the sick man's wound. He prayed over him until the man woke up.
The sick man asked the magus why he has helped him and the magus told him everything. He told him that they were infact four in number who had set out to find the newly born king. That they all agreed to meet at a point and make the journey together. On his way he found him lying there and thought within himself that if he left him in that condition he would die, and if he waited and helped him his companions would leave him behind. After praying, he told him, the Holy Spirit directed him to wait and help him. That was why he waited and ministered unto him. Now that he has recovered, he was going to continue his journey. He was sorry that his companions have left him by this time because of the kindness he showed to him. The Hebrew told him exactly where the child was to be born, in Bethlehem.
When the fourth wiseman arrived at the spot he found a note by his companions that after waiting for him, and could not see him, they had to leave. The fourth wiseman thought that his mission was a failure. But you have heard what has been read to you. As long as you did it to the least of these little ones you did it unto me. The other wiseman spent thirty-three years searching for the new born king. When he went to one city he was told that the one he is looking for has just left to the next city. When he went to Jericho he was told that he was in Nazareth, when he went to Nazareth he was told that he had left for Galilee and so he continued to move around, without success. All the while his gifts were diminishing because he was helping the poor and the sick in the course of his journey. He was giving them out to those he found to be in need.
One morning he was told that the person he was looking for has just left for Jerusalem. The fourth wiseman has given out most of the treasures he had reserved for the King. He was left with only a few for Him. And with those, he started his journey to Jerusalem. When he arrived Jerusalem, he saw soldiers who were going about killing the innocent children. He saw a mother with a child, and thinking that this might have been the baby, he quickly went to her rescue. He hid the woman and her child in his big gown. And when the soldiers arrived, he called out to the captain and told him that he was keeping this for the captain that will first come his way. The captain quickly threw the gift inside his pocket and told his men to leave to some other place because there was no woman with a child around. That was how the fourth wiseman saved the life of the child. From there he continued to wander about for the child Jesus. He spent 33 years looking for Him, Alas! on the crucifixion day he arrived in Jerusalem, when, He was to be crucified. It was there and then that he came across a woman who was being man-handled for the debt which her dead father was owing this people. When the woman saw him and the cap which he wore she cried out to him to come and help her because she took him for a priest since her father was a priest and used to put on the same cap. He did not know what to do. This was the last gift he had for the king. If he did not give it to these people as a ransom, they would surely kill the woman. What was he to do? He brought out his last gift and gave it to them and the girl was saved. Brethren, you have been assured that whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
10.13 Reward to kindness
Again you have heard the king saying unto them on his right hand, “come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world, for I was hungry, you gave me meat; I was thirsty and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered and fed thee? Or thirsty, and gave thee drink? And the King shall answer and say unto them, verily I say unto you, in as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me”.
As the fourth wise man was standing there with the woman, there was an earth-quake and a mighty stone fell from the wall and crushed him to death. It was when he was lying down there that he heard the voice saying to him, come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world for I was hungry and you gave me meat; I was thirsty, and you gave me drink, was a stranger and you took me in. This woman was also hearing this voice and she also heard when he asked, Lord when did I see you hungry and fed thee, or thirsty and gave thee drink? Or a stranger and took thee in. And the Lord answered him and said, verily I say unto you, in as much as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.
This woman heard the voice and she also heard as the dying man was muttering these questions, and she wrote it down. This is what you find recorded in the gospel of Matthew 25. Let our second lesson be read.
Second lesson: Matthew 19: 21
“Jesus said unto him, if thou wilt be perfect, go and sell all that thou hast and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come and follow me”
Brethren, have you heard that? You are told to sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven. This is the first and the last gospel. There is no disappointment in it. It is as sure as daylight. Whoever God has given the ability to practise this gospel has entered into the Kingdom of God. There is no hindrance, no enemy to stop him from entering into the Kingdom of God the moment you comply with this gospel.
Why is it that you have five plates but you find it difficult to give one out to the person who has none? Our Lord Jesus Christ says that he who has two coats should impart one to him who has none. He who has food should do likewise. It means that one shirt is sufficient for you. Before it gets torn God will provide you another one. Have you heard that thieves have ever broken into the house of a poor man? It is when you accumulate more than you can use at a time that you attract thieves to your house. That is why our Lord Jesus Christ said that it is easier for a Carmel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God. He has also told you to lay your treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt and where thieves do not break through and steal.
10.14 How Mary Magdalene was saved
What did Mary Magdalene do to obtain salvation? When Christ was sitting in the house of one Simeon the leper, Mary went and sat at His feet and with her tears washed the feet of the Lord Jesus Christ. She then used her hairs to wipe off the tears, and used costly ointment to anoint His feet. Our Lord Jesus Christ told Simeon that her sins, though many, have been forgiven. Levi also invited the Lord Jesus to his house and made a big feast for Him. Matthew was the Governor of the tax collectors, but he sold all that he had and put into the common purse. That was why the work of God progressed unabated and without being a burden to any person. The money you have, was given to you by God, but why do you find it difficult to give out one kobo to somebody less fortunate than you. When you read Luke 12:42-43 you will know those who have faith.
10.15 Faith without works is dead
It is written; “And the Lord said, who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his Lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord, when he cometh, shall find so doing. Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath”. These are those who have faith accompanied with works. And the Scripture says, show me thy faith without works, and I will show thee my faith by my works; faith without works is dead. If you preach the word of God but fail to help the poor, then you are an unbeliever. For the Scripture says, if a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled: notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
10.16 Who has faith?
We are expected to be kind and generous otherwise we are wasting our time. You have to lay for yourself a good foundation against the time to come. As it is written in I Timothy 6:17-19;
"Charge them that are rich in this world that they be not high minded nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.
That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold of eternal life."
Whoever gives to the poor and helps the workers of God is the person who has faith. Anyone who preaches without helping the poor is a liar. He is a deceitful preacher. That was why Paul said that he will preach and practise what he preaches, lest his work betaken and he himself cast away. Also do not let your work be taken while you are cast away. If you preach to people and they hear and practise the Word of God, they are saved and so your work is taken. But if you do not practise what you preach, they will be taken while you will be left behind.
10.17 The story of a Bishop
I have already told you a story about a certain bishop who had very many branches of his church. And he ordained other pastors and reverends to take charge of his various churches. He elected elders and pastors in his own church but none of them did anything. They were all enjoying their positions and boasted in their names. This bishop had a servant who did not hold any office in the church. This servant took charge of all the affairs of the church but no one recognised him. He was carrying out every duty; from taking the bishop out and receiving members into the church, sweeping and cleaning of the church were all done by him alone. The bishop and his officers did nothing. This servant was over-seeing everything in the church. One day this servant died and no person even mourned for him. They said that he was a servant who could easily be replaced. And so they hurriedly buried him. As a servant he was easily forgotten.
In the world beyond this servant was allocated a three-storey building which was well furnished. The servant lived there and enjoyed a very rich and blessed life. After a short time, the bishop also died and the people gave him a befitting burial. He had built many churches and was very active in the work of God and so people concluded that he was going straight into Paradise and that his works followed after him. When he reached the world beyond he was taken to a poor ramshackle house whose walls were dilapidated and was told to live and own the house. The bishop started complaining that he was a bishop who had owned many churches and priests under him and did not deserve such a house. He was told that was his home.
One day as he was taking a walk round the city, he came to the three-storey building which was given to his servant. As he looked up, he saw one who was his servant from the window of the last floor. He asked a passerby whose house it was, and he was told that the house belonged to the person he was seeing through the window. The bishop argued that he was his servant on earth. Why must he be living in such a mansion while he was given a wretched house. There must be injustice here and he was going to fight against it. After complaining to the hearing of the authorities, he was invited to the office where things could be sorted out. In the office, the bishop was asked of his name. When he gave it to them, they started searching for his file. Since he did not do any good work, his file was never touched, and was finally found at the bottom covered with dust after a long search. When they opened it, the file was empty. No record of any good work was found.
They asked him the name of his servant and when he gave them, they started searching for his file too. They did not search for it for long because the servant was very hard working and did a lot of good works while on earth. The first file found at the very top was his file. It was full and they picked the second which was also opened for him. The servant had many files which showed all the good works he did and this was shown to the bishop. The bishop argued that he was the person who sent him to do all the work that were recorded for him. They told him that it was not the person who did the sending but the person who did the job who had the credit. And so the bishop was thrown out of the office to go and live in his wretched house. Let our golden text be read.
Golden Text: Matthew 25: 34-35
"Then shall the king say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
For I was an hungered and ye gave me meat. I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink. I was a stranger, and ye took me in."
Brethren, have you heard that? Our Lord Jesus Christ said to his disciples- “The Scribes and the Pharisees sit on the seat of Moses therefore do all that they say but do not do what they do. For they preach but do not practise.”
10.18 Manifest your belief in your works
All those who believe this gospel must manifest it in their works. If they have faith they show it by their works. It is said that action speaks louder than words. When you are always collecting money from people without helping the poor, do you know what you are doing? You are harming yourself. A brother has purchased a Cathedral for Brotherhood at a cost of £50,000 in England. Another brother has bought a building to be used as a Bethel for Brotherhood at Washington at a cost of $195,000. The six-storey building complex at 34, Ambo Street is being put up by one brother .He has already purchased land for Brotherhood at Enugu. Do you think that these people are insane by using their money that way? They do this because they believe in this gospel. They know the place that is kept for all those who use their wealth to support the work of God and to encourage the workers of God. Their names are written in the Book of Life.
Whether you fast and pray and do many other things, this Kingdom is for those who help the servants of God and those who use their substance to promote the work of God. They go straight to heaven even before the preacher. Tell me what is physically more important than food and clothing in this life. If your belly is not filled will your clothe hold on to your waist? Many of you argue that when you do good to people, they do not appreciate it, and they repay you with evil. You do not do it so as to receive praise or appreciation from man. You should do it with the understanding that you want to inherit the Kingdom of God. It is your duty to do good without seeking anything in return.
10.19 Free service
Do you not see the example of our Lord Jesus Christ? He did everything free of charge. He healed people free. He fed them free. He preached the word of God free. That is why you see His glory so great today. If He went about charging money from people, do you think He would have attained this glory? Godliness with contentment has great gain in this world and in the world to come. If God gives you the ability to look after the poor and to help the worker of God, then your reward is as sure as daylight, in this world and in the world to come. Your salvation lies in this gospel. The Lord knows how to deliver the righteous out of temptation. You did not know the importance of this gospel, that is why I am taking time to explain it to you today. Our Lord Jesus Christ always spoke to outsiders in parables but plainly to His disciples. You can see the love the Father has for you by giving you this gospel.
10.20 Why man was created last
Let no person deceive you that food, clothing, and money are not important. What then will enhance the work of God when these things are not there for the servants of God? Man is the highest of God's creation. Why then was he created last? Before God made man, He first created the heavens, the earth, the sun, the moon, the stars, the seas, fishes, trees, birds, plants and fruits. He did so that man may have where to live and with what to support himself. That is why our Lord Jesus Christ said if you who are evil know how to give good things to your children how much more shall your Father in heaven give good things to His children who call on Him. If you who are evil know how to give good things to the servants of God, if you know how to promote the work of God, how much more shall your Father in heaven give you a greater reward.
And He says, “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in”. Brethren, that is the reward which God has kept for all those who show kindness and benevolence to his workers and to all those who help in the upliftment of the work of God on earth.
Brethren, I do not want to take you further. It is said that one stroke of the cane is sufficient unto the wise. He who has ears to hear, let him hear. May God bless His holy words. Amen!
THANK YOU FATHER.
