DO NOT LIVE BY FOOD ALONE

”I am the bread of life. Your fathers did eat manner in the wilderness and are dead. lam the living bread which came down from heaven; if any man eats of this bread, he shall live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for life of the world. Verily I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, ye have no life in you, Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; for my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood dwelleth in me and I in him'. (John 6: 48 - 56) First lesson: I Corinthians 8:8 "But meat commendeth us not to God; for neither if we eat are we the better; neither if we eat not are we the worse ". Second lesson: Romans 14:17 "For the Kingdom of God is not in meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost". Golden text: Revelation 7:16 “They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat". You are all witnesses that the world has turned the glory of God into lust for food, drinks and clothes. You always doubt when you are told that you are in heaven in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star because you feel that you have no money and have not paid back all your debts, an assertion that cannot be true. But, when you see someone in a palatial building you tend to think that, the person is in heaven. It is as a result of such misconception of heaven that makes wealthy people think that God loves them so much. As against the poor. 2.1 Man shall not live by bread alone When your wife gives you a palatable dish, you eat and savour it. You then think you are in heaven because of the nice food you eat. God says that food is not a determining factor, neither can such mundane things as money, clothes, children, wives, houses be compared with the Kingdom of God. Can all these earthly things you put your hopes on give you everlasting life? If food could give people life nobody would have died. The glory of the world is from the Kingdom of God. You have all forsaken the Kingdom of God in quest for food. There are many who cannot fast and those who cannot spare a morsel for the poor. Giving or denying a person food has no effect because this food which is so important to you is nothing before God and your fasting is nothing too. People bear grudges against others and people divorce or leave their wives and husbands because of lack of food. In this Kingdom, food is of no value and plays a very insignificant role. That is why this Kingdom is hidden from the rich but revealed to the poor. When your friends ask you why you walk barefoot, tell them that food and shoes do not give peace. However in the word of God, you now have perfect peace and both big and small are testifying about this glory of God. People sit on cushion chairs and sleep on all sorts of mattresses yet they have no peace in themselves. Is the peace you have in this Kingdom and is the glory of this Kingdom brought about by food or clothes? Very many people in Brotherhood do not need food again and if they eat any they have stomach ache. In the past you regarded food as god but now you do not value it again because you have realised that whether you eat or not, food does not commend you to God. You, therefore, should not worship food or the person who feeds you. If you are not fed, do not condemn the person because he does you no good if he gives you food, and does no wrong if he does not give you. When our Lord Jesus Christ went to the house of Martha and Mary, Mary sat down to hear the words of God while Martha busied herself in preparing food for Christ. Martha became envious and requested Mary to come and assist her. Christ advised her not to worry Mary because Mary had chosen the better part. Why do you not know that the Kingdom of God is the word of God (the gospel) which you should eat and be satisfied? What else can induce you to sing and praise God with joy even if you are lying helpless in the hospital? The word of God changes people to righteousness but food has contributed nothing to mankind in this world and will not even in the world to come. On the contrary, food has been the source of political upheavals and economic strangulation of the world. If you regard feeding of people as the work of God, you should repent because food does not give peace but war. You worship food and long for it yet no matter how much you eat, you will still feel hungry again. You regard the person who gives you food as a pious man but the man who gives you the gospel (the word of God) you reject. First lesson: 1 Corinthians 8:8 “But meat commendeth us not to God, for neither if we eat are we the better, neither if we eat not are we the worse ". Why do you leave the word of God to serve tables or fight for food when food does not give you any position before God? The world is blind. Saint Paul said that those who love food regard their stomach as their god and for this reason are enemies of the cross of Christ. From now on you should know that all those who regarded or regard themselves as being in heaven because of the sumptuous food they ate or eat are not in heaven but in hell. 2.2 Living bread from heaven Eating or not eating does not make you righteous before God. Food cannot change you to holiness, which the word of God can do. This is why Christ advises that you labour not for the food that perishes but for the one, which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of Man gives. The food that endures forever is the word of God. The word of God gives you peace, joy and protection. No amount of money you accumulate can carry you to heaven. The number of children you have, your status in society and the numerous academic degrees you have cannot give you peace or stand you in any stead before God. The only thing that can change you and give you peace and joy is the gospel. Instead of requesting for food from someone, ask for the word of God because the Kingdom of God is not food but the gospel. Second lesson: Romans 14:17 “For the Kingdom of God is not meat and drinks but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost". The marriage feast of the lamb is ready but those invited have refused to come. Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Come into the Kingdom and be saved. When you were in the world with a lot of money, you had no peace. Now you have no money, job and no food yet you have perfect peace. This is why I tell you that you are in heaven because the word of God is the Kingdom of God, and you are given the word of God here daily. 2.3 The word is spirit and life The word of God is peace, spirit, righteousness and everlasting life. Food and drink lead to destruction. The killing and eating of animals and lust for costly apparels bring death. The peace and joy we have today cannot be given by the world neither can they share in the wonderful testimonies we bear to the glory of God. You used to think that God does not love you but today you are living testimonies because of the word of God. Why is it that fools do not know that the flesh profits nothing? Why do you complain that you are not given food and clothes in this Kingdom? You were not brought here by these things. You were brought here by the words of God and as you have received them, you are free. Now people no more feel hungry or thirsty and do not want to go back to their houses. The world wonders why you should be so happy when you do not have any material possessions. Most of you hitherto thought that heaven comprises motorcars, ships or costly apparels. But this Gospel has revealed to you that the Kingdom of God is not eating, drinking and merry-making but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. No one who preaches the gospel can go hungry or thirsty. He will have peace because he is in the Kingdom. In your offices you have no peace but when you undertake ministry work, you become happy. The Kingdom of God is not in beauty, fatness or riches but peace, joy and righteousness. Golden text: Revelation 7:16 "They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; neither shall the sun light on them nor any heat". Those who receive the word of God can never be hungry or thirsty and never be bothered by the heat of the sun or by rain. Those who do not have the word of God have troubles, feel hungry and speak evil against the ways of God. From the moment you receive the word of God, the sun and rain will cease to have dominion over you. In the past you were worried over the trivial matters but now you are content and you have peace. 2.4 Prophecy fulfilled in you Do not hang your thoughts on food because if you are neither hungry nor thirsty you have no need for food. If the sun and rain do not bother you, the worldly things are vanity to you. So many of you who could not go out without shoes are moving around-the town today barefooted defying hunger, rain and the heat of the sun. Since the prophecy is now fulfilled in us, it is established beyond reasonable doubts that this is the Kingdom of God where peace and testimony are our food. The sun, moon, stars, poverty, sickness and hatred have been overcome. As you receive this gospel you are in heaven. Accept God fully as He has called you. Do not doubt anymore. Believe of a truth that you shall hunger no more, neither shall the sun, rain or heat bother you. Those who have ears to hear let them hear and may God bless His holy words; . Amen. THANK YOU FATHER
