    CALABAR THE CITY OF GOD

First lesson: Matthew 10: 19 -20 "But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak; for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the spirit of your Father which speaketh in you." Second lesson: II Cor 10: 13 "But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the role which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you." Golden text: 1 Peter 5: 7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 20.1 The voice of God is speaking Brethren, this is the time of joy and all those who are of this fold are the luckiest of all things created by God because you are hearing directly from the horse's mouth. There are different voices in the world; the voice of man, animal, birds, fishes and any other thing you can think of but of these voices, the voice of God is the supreme. Thus, as at the time you were in the world, you were listening to the voice of men, voices of ghosts, mermaid, and apparitions and of unknown things. Besides, you were under compulsion to obey them. They would say at that time the lion will devour you, fire will consume you or any other evil will befall you if you do not obey them. But now, the voice of God is speaking to you. It is quite different from what you were hearing in the world and this voice of God is the whole truth. Believe therefore that your sickness, afflictions, and all your life encumbrances have been transformed to that of testimonies and you are all redeemed. Let our first lesson be read again. First lesson: Matthew 10:19-20 "But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak; for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.” 20.2 No child of perdition amongst you Brethren, what you have heard is nothing but the truth. Many times when you are faced with problems and difficulties, you begin to lament and fret about that you are perishing; that your father, mother and even God has forsaken you. Has God ever forsaken anybody? It is a pity that you have never stooped down for a moment to ponder over the fact that God who created you can never forsake you. God is always with you and can never desert you. But it is surprising how you complain that He has forsaken you. Know therefore that all such talks expressed in your calamity is mistake. From this day, be assured that God had never and will never forsake any person and according to the scriptures, no person perishes except the child of perdition and there is no child of perdition here amongst you. 20.3 The voice of man is not of God You erroneously say that God helps those who help themselves or that when God helps you, you should equally help yourself. I wonder how man can help himself. They say that for identifying with Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, you are perished. How can you perish? They are mistaken so, do not mind them because God does not perish and you cannot perish. When people threaten you with certain words and ascribe to themselves various titles and names; claiming to be fire, sea, the power that be and can do anything, these are all words of threats because as far as the Father lives, He will continue to protect you. Your only duty is to keep to His words and He will continue to protect you. The statement that the voice of man is the voice of God is fallacious. The voice of man cannot be the voice of God. Man can only use threatening and boastful words on you. Your earthly father tells you that many calamities will befall you if you do one thing or the other but the Almighty Father does not say so. Even in any circumstance of temptation. He will emerge to save you. So, the voice of man can never be the voice of God. Since God is alive and does not perish, you will not perish, He will continue to protect you. 20.4 God loves all people Many people claim that God loves them more than any other person. This is not so for there is no person God does not love. There is no one God does not guide and protect. Since all the people in the world are His children, He loves and protects them similarly. Often times, you complain that people are dying like flies, as such the population has reduced. Where do they die to? How many people were created in the beginning? Were they not two and what is the population of people in the world today? If ten thousand people die today, tomorrow, more than that number will be born, therefore, that complaint is erroneous. Remember that if a grain of corn does not die it remains alone but when it dies, it germinates and brings manifold grains 20.5 Why I have come to you Our lesson says, if you are summoned before a council, do not contemplate of what you are going to say, because it is not you that is being summoned, it is the Father and the Father will solicit and do everything there for you. I have not come as God, man, wind or as water but I have come to straighten every path and keep everything in their right order so that the fear within you may be taken away to enable you do that which is right in the sight of God. People are fond of saying that without this or that person, a particular community would have perished or without a particular person- that sickness would not have been cured. Who can cure a sickness and who can save people? That man who cured that sickness, where is he today? And all those great men who protected their territories and did many things for their people, where are they today? So, it is a mistake to say that without a particular person, something cannot happen. Know from now that there is no place you go to and you cannot find the Father there. He can manifest in any place, form and manner just to protect you. Therefore, God is everywhere, He is everything and is in everything. 20.6 The Father does everything You keep praying to the Father to manifest to you, He can reveal Himself to you in any form but when he comes, you mistake Him for a ghost, Satan, demon, witchcraft. So, I want you to know that since God is everything, He can reveal Himself to you in any form and you do not have to mistake Him for any other thing. Every time, you are praying and singing that God should use you in His service, He should use you to do that which is good in His sight but when He begins to use you, you will be transfixed, you will misinterpret Him and say He is a ghost or mermaid. The prayer you offer for somebody to recover from sickness is only a formality. It is the Father who does the healing. He is the one who exalts somebody as well as bring somebody down. He is responsible for every occurrence in the world. Have you not heard that the tabernacle of God is now with men on earth? Many people still harbour the erroneous belief that our Lord Jesus Christ dwells in the sky and will crashland one day. Whatever belief you hold, I want you to know that this is the time for every person to bear witness to the glorification of God on earth because He is physically present and is the one doing everything now on earth. 20.7 God is supreme Brethren, I want you to know that the supremacy of God is boundless. Any person He assigns a duty must obey Him willingly or unwillingly. That is why when He commissioned Jonah to Nineveh and he refused, that did not make God to change His mind. In his attempt to run away, Jonah joined a ship which was bound to Tarsus. In the middle of the sea, there was a great storm which nearly wrecked the ship. All the passengers and the entire crew were afraid. They knew that something or somebody in the ship was responsible for the storm. They decided to cast lot in order to bring out the culprit. The question is, who was that wind-storm? That wind-storm was God and should God appear to you in that form, you will call Him names. As the lot was cast, it fell on Jonah and he confessed of being responsible for it for he refused to hearken to God's directive. He then told the people to throw him overboard. On the one hand, the people were afraid to do that as that would mean death for him while on the other hand they knew it was reasonable for one person to die than for the multitude in that ship to die. So, he was thrown into the sea. In the sea, a big shark was already waiting for him with mouth wide opened. Who was that shark? Was it not God Himself? Immediately he was thrown over board, he dropped straight into the mouth of that shark and it took him and dropped him exactly at the coast of Nineveh which he did not want to go. That is exactly how God uses you to do His work and that is the so called witchcraft or ghost in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star that ignorant people talk about. Therefore, this gospel is intended to take away that fear from you, so that you do not run away when you are faced with such experiences. Now, if there is anything you are hanging around your neck, waist or hidden in your pockets, throw them away because they are meaningless. Let our second Bible lesson be read again. Second lesson: II Cor. 10: 13 "But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you." 20.8 God is responsible for everything, not witches Brethren, it is pathetic that people look at things with pessimism. They always look at things from their dark side. They do not see anything as right and proper. A woman was pregnant and for a total period of nine months, Satan was not there but when she was about delivering the child, Satan was presumed to be there to devour the child. And I ask, where was that Satan when the woman was pregnant? The same thing happens in every sphere of life. In your village, if a man marries a wife and their first child is dead, they will say, the man or the woman is a witch. If the second child is dead also, they will say, he is responsible for it. If he marries and does not have a child, they say, it is because of the devil. It is because of the society he has initiated himself into, he cannot have a child. If somebody married and has eight or ten children, they will also say, his wizardry is responsible for it. If somebody is amazingly rich in the community, people will be suspicious of this person. They will ask, is he the only person in this community? Why should he be richer than every other person, there is something about him. 20.9 Only God exists Beloved, this day, I want to show you that it is only God who exists. All the things you have been seeing from the dark side are the mistakes of your eyes because only God exists in this world. From now on, all the problems you were having and attributing them to witches and wizards, mermaids, or apparitions are now solved because God is responsible for everything. If you had any court case, you are now discharged and acquitted. If you had problems in your matrimonial homes and difficulties in life, all such problems have been solved for you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. 20.10 Calabar is the city of God I want you to know that there is nothing you request from God and He denies you. There was a time King Archibong Edem, one-time Paramount Chief of Calabar sent a letter to the Queen of England requesting them to bring God to the land and promptly, God manifested in Calabar. Thus, Calabar became the City of God. It is the abode of God. But as God came to live in Calabar, they mistook Him for ghost and wizzard. The people do not recognize the fact that He is here with them. Throughout the whole world people do not appreciate what God does for them, rather, they say, it is ghost, wizard etc. People even attribute the source of their having children to mermaids and encourage others to sacrifice their tubers of yam, fowls, goats and drinks to mermaids in order to acquire certain things. But do the mermaids have mouth? They will ask you to go to that oracle or necromancer and sacrifice certain things, bring loin cloths, yams, fowl, and goat. And tomorrow you see the wife of the necromancer using those loin clothes. Therefore brethren, it is time you understand these things because the era of ignorance had since passed. Nothing else exists except God. Wherever you go to, He is there looking after you. So, do not attribute any occurrence to anything but to God because He is the Creator of everything in the world. 20.11 No temptation is above man Our second lesson has clearly told us that no temptation is ever beyond the ability and control of a person because even in the midst of the temptation, there will be a panacea or way of escape for you. Who provides the way of escape? It is God alone so that you may not be consumed in that temptation and that you may also over come it. God Has spoken in Matthew 23:12 that whoever exalts himself will be abased. It is only the person that humbles himself that He raises up. Among the Efik indigenes, how many of them are here? Even though God is here in their midst, it is a negligible number of the Efiks that are here. The present Leader's Representative of London is not just a man, he is a man of great learning, a professor, and a white man but he comes all the way from the overseas to take cognisance of this God. He has equally surrendered his churches to the Father but the Efik person and of course, the blackman regards the Father as a ghost. 20.12 Black man and negative thinking Some time ago, some Christian denominations in Calabar invited the whites to come for there was a very powerful wizard in Calabar, that they should come and take away that power and also chase him away. At another time, they wrote to Archbishop Idahosa who came and said that there was a dangerous vulture around Ambo and that he was going to drive away that vulture. That is how a blackman looks at things, He rarely appreciates the good side of anything. But I am telling you that all these things are figment of people's imagination. It is only God who exists. And all these things you are thinking of; ghost or apparition are not in existence. Therefore, attribute everything to God. You often attribute things and events to men. Who told you that man can do anything? It is God who does everything and is responsible for everything that happens in the world. So, this lesson should act as an ointment to take away that cloud from your eyes that you may appreciate the truth about God. Take an instance from the 144,000 pew. How many Efik children are in their midst. There is none. The reason is that they claim to know so much but the day they will realise themselves; they will be overwhelmed with joy and will serve God in totality. From now henceforth, I want you people to refrain from the things of the world because there is nothing else in existence than God. Abstain from keeping malice. Do not be jealous of anything and do not lust for anything. Know that Calabar is the City of God and people will troop in with their wealth to settle here. This Hall will be expanded upwards, and seven times. This building will be expanded yet this place will be too small for the multitude that will come. But first of all, kill that malicious spirit and concentrate on whatever He has ordained you for. Let our Golden Text be re-examined Golden text: 1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon him; for he carefh for you." 20.13 Do not exalt yourself Brethren, even though all of us are children of God, He uses us variously in His service and that is when we humble ourselves before Him. Remember, when Evangelist Earnest Angeles from U.S.A. was drafted to Calabar by agents of calumny against the Father, it was so difficult for him to operate, He was chased along side those who went to watch him operate by windstorm and thunderous rain. The storm was so severe that people started saying, “Oh Olumba will kill this man". That is to say that Olumba was the cause of all those occurrences. In fact the storm was so much that he ran away and left Calabar. But I wonder why you should attribute God's glory to a human being. Who was that rain and who was the storm? I have only brought peace, love and other virtues of God to you. Nobody should therefore exalt himself. Always humble yourself 'before Him and that truth shall be revealed unto you and you will be ultimately exalted. 20.14 My persecutors are those to preach and testify about this kingdom Remember that Paul who persecuted the children of God was at last a vessel in God's Kingdom and so shalt it be with all those who blaspheme against the Holy Father and speak evil of the New Kingdom of God on earth. They will all be brought in here and their lot will be to preach this gospel to the entire world. That is the time we will have testimonies as these people will testify everywhere. As people regard God here as a mermaid, it is so in other places. It is so in Lagos, Akwa Ibom, and in America. They look at God as a witch, mermaid and apparition but this is the time to glorify God because it is written in the scriptures that the Kingdoms of this world are become that of Jehovah and His Christ and He will reign eternally. Take our first witness from Revelation 11:15. Revelation 11:15: "And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever”. 20.15 Everybody is one Now that you know Calabar to be the city of God, do not raise your shoulder high, do not say that we are' the only people because all other places and people belong to God. God is everything, He is here among you. He is in Europe, South America, Australia. Asia, everywhere. You should therefore not boast of anything, or, cause division because every person is one and you must always live together. Do not say, this is your father's land or your father owns that place. Who is your father? All these things do not give glory to God. It is love and unity which give glory to God. So, you have to abide by them. When you refer to Moses for having done one thing or the other as stated in Hebrews 9.1-15, remember that our Lord Jesus has said that all those who came before Him are thieves, robbers. When you claim that your great grand father brought the first Christian denomination to this place, I want to tell you that they were thieves and robbers for the one who was to come in God's infinite love and mercy came at a time consistent with His own will and all those who came before Him are thieves and-robbers. Our second witness is an extract from 1 Timothy 1:9-16 "Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for men-stealers; for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all expectation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting". 20.16 Children of God are not under the law Brethren, can you now see that laws were made for evil doers? But here, there is no law and we are not under the law. We have only love. Wherever you find so many laws being made, run away from there because it is incompatible with what God has provided. God does not want any person to perish that is why He is patient and tolerant so that everybody may repent and be saved. Do not be proud and pompous, humble yourself absolutely before Him and you will appreciate whatever He gives to you. 20.17 God is everywhere There is no place God does not exist. He is the owner of all places and things in the world. God does not only exist in Calabar and Calabar is not the only place blessed by Him. The whole world is included but what He expects from humanity is absolute humility and love. There should be no division or segregation. All should come together and serve Him because we are all one. Endeavour to abhor malice in your heart that you may be able to appreciate one another. 20.18 Where problems of man emanate The problems of man emanate from pride and pomposity. When the first European missionaries arrived Obutong in Calabar, and one day, as service was being conducted, the people of Obutong marched with their Ekpe-masquerade and flogged the missionaries. Consequently, the whites packed away from there and took their message of God to another place. The Roman Catholic came, the same fate befell them. The Efiks claimed that they already have their religion which is the Ekpe cult, so they should take away their religion. Recall that Calabar was the first administrative government headquarters of Nigeria. The Governor-General as he was then called was coming while King Archibong Edem and his councillors were coming on the opposite direction of the road with their Ekpe masquerade. Siren was blown to scare them from the road so that the governor may pass but it fell on deaf ears. The Governor-General had to reverse his vehicle and went away and that was the cause of the removal of the Administrative Headquarters from Calabar to Lagos. From that time, Calabar has been dwindling and but for the timely arrival of God, it would have dwindled to nothingness. Therefore brethren, there is nothing good in pomposity, God alone is the King and rules over the whole world. 20.19 Be warned now Remember also that the Efiks had initially chased God away by flogging the missionaries, hence, the fact which caused the removal of the Administrative headquarters from Calabar. So now, everybody should humble himself and bow down to Him because He does not want anybody to perish. He wants everybody to change so that we may enjoy this world eternally with Him. An adage has it that another person's child cannot rub your back down to the waist. If Calabar was not my city and if the entire world is not mine, why should I have come when you people despise the truth and do not want God? Now, God is in the world, every person must accept Him; the blacks, whites, the coloured and all the races must worship Him in humility, that there may be one flock under one shepherd. Brethren, it is said that a stroke of the cane is sufficient for the wise, he who has ears, let him hear. May God bless His holy words; Amen. THANK YOU FATHER
