THE NEW NAME OF JESUS CHRIST IN HIS SECOND COMING

In the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ In the Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ Now and forever more. Amen It is a well known fact that before our Lord Jesus Chris was born in human form in the first advent, the prophets prophesied about the event. They tried to tell the people the name which he shall be called. Thus, Prophet Isaiah told the people that he shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor. The Mighty God, The Prince of Peace... Isaiah 9:6-7. In another place, the same prophet had revealed his name as Immanuel Isaiah 7:14 Jeremiah the prophet, in his own vision, told the people that the name by which the expected Messiah shall be called is “THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS” Jer. 23:5-6, 33:14-16. When the time came to consummate this plan, the Lord God sent His angel and notified the Virgin Mary of the good news. The angel told Mary that the expected child shall be called Jesus Luke 1:26-33. The name Jesus therefore was not given unto the Lord by any human source and contemplation. It was divine, and commensurate to his duty and assignment as the Redeemer. Hence the angel told Joseph that the expected child’s name should be Jesus for he shall save his people from their sins Matt. 1:21 6.1 Every mission of God has a new name associated with it Now we can see that the name God bears at any particular time he manifests himself physically, is always identical to his assigned mission. Thus our Lord Jesus Christ was called Jesus because he came to propitiate for us in the presence of the Father God, for the forgiveness of our sins using his blood. For the Father God had ordained that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of our sins Lev. 17:11, Heb. 9:19-22. This mission he faithfully accomplished when he was crucified on the cross - Luke 23:33-34 6.2 Character and attributes of God in the second coming of Jesus Christ As regards the second coming of the Lord and His name the prophets were aware of it, and the character personification of Him. Consequently, the patriarch Jacob, when he was about to die, warned his children about the coming of the Lord Gen. 49:1-2. The Patriarch revealed to his children that when the Almighty God comes into the world in human form He shall wear a red garment as His main attire. Gen. 49:8-11. The prophet Isaiah confirmed this appearance of the Father God clad in red garment. And the Father God told him that He the Father God was clothing Himself in red garment because he was coming to judge the people. Isaiah 63:1-6. In a more explicit manner, an angel of the Lord revealed to John the Divine in about 96 A.D. the characteristic name and attributes of Christ in His second coming. Thus, John in the book of Revelation tells us “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True... And he had a name written which no man knew but he himself... And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood, and his name is called, the Word of God. Rev. 19:11-13. These are the attributes of Christ in His second coming namely, FAITHFULNESS and TRUTH as seen above, and his name is “THE WORD OF GOD” Earlier on, we had seen that the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ as revealed to his parents by the angel was Jesus which means Saviour. And that was a common name among the Jewry. But due to its implied meaning, it was given to the Lord and Saviour. In this regard therefore, the angel showed John the name that Christ shall bear in His second coming. But the Apostle John could not read it since it was not a Hebrew name, neither was it written in the Hebrew language. Thus he tells us, “ And he had a name written which no man knew but he himself” Rev. 19:12. In view of the fact that John could not grasp the meaning of the new name of Christ, the angel was quick to interpret it to John. And John tells us “And his name was called the Word of God.” THE WORD OF GOD, is the meaning of the name of the Conqueror dressed in red garment. And this name is no other name than OLUMBA OLUMBA OBU. This is the name John could not read because it was not a Hebrew name nor was it written in the Hebrew language. 6.3 The meaning of the new name of God Now, therefore, this is the interpretation of this name OLUMBA OLUMBA OBU. OLUMBA It is a common name in the East Central part of Nigeria particularly among the IGBO people and the affiliated tribes. It is rather a comprehensive name which I am going to break into two parts for easy comprehension. 1. OLU: This means speech, utterance, voice or word 2. MBA: This means nation or group, the universe or generality of the creations. Therefore the word OLUMBA, taken as an abstract, means universal speech, universal word. It means speech, utterance, voice or word that has bearing on the generality of all the creations, a word that is binding on the nations, or speech, voice and word that touches the entire universe. And it should be known, there is no word that has bearing on, touches all creations of God than the Word of God. And the Word of God is God Himself John 1: 1- 4. Therefore OLUMBA means the Word of God. Taken as a being, the word OLUMBA, means universal spokesman. He who speaks for or on behalf of the nations, or he who speaks for the generality of the people and creations. The universal speaker. That is to say, he whose words are binding on all creations and beings. OBU (OGBU) The word Obu or Ogbu which is the original pronunciation means Conqueror, Vanquisher, or the Victorious one. It means he that does not succumb to his enemy. One that annihilates his enemy. He that never is defeated. The Almighty. This is the name which John could not read because it was not written in the Hebrew words. This is the name of the victorious Conqueror who is clothed in red vesture. This is the name of the Being whose followers are clothed in white linen. This is the name of the Almighty God, the King of kings and Lord of lords. Rev. 19: 11-16 This interpretation is authentic and immutable. THANK YOU FATHER
