"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find knock, and it shall be opened unto you”

"And now. Lord, behold their thrreatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word.
By stretching forth thy hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of the holy child Jesus.
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were all filled with Holy Ghost, and they spoke the word of God with boldness".

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the Father of Lights with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning”
Sing that spiritual chorus: “The Holy Spirit is now on earth, let my people shout Amen, Amen, Hallelujah, The Holy Spirit is life, it is the root of life of the children of God” "Seek ye first, the kingdom of the Lord, and all other things shall be added unto you." Our Lord Jesus Christ had already spoken when He said it is expedient I go away, because if I go not away the Comforter will not come, but if I go away the comforter will come unto you. You will then realise that our Lord Jesus Christ bore testimony about this kingdom.
He told them, I will go unto the Father, because the Father is greater than I, that if you were to know you will rejoice because the Father is greater than I. Since the comforter has come there is no need to engage in much talking. We have only to bear testimony of him, and sing and rejoice, because the long expected kingdom of God has arrived. The Comforter has arrived. The counselor has arrived. That is why we have to honour him. Your duty and my duty is to sing and dance and rejoice; because we are saved. You are saved; and all the inhabitants of the world are saved.
2.1 Do not request for carnal things
We just want to scratch the periphery and show to you what you are expected to have been doing this week that has just past i.e. the Pastor's week, is a wonderful week indeed, because the things the Father has revealed had never before been revealed. Now you have heard as it is read to you that you should knock, seek and ask, but you require that God should give you a child or wife, or husband, or motor car. And I ask, is that what He has told you to ask for? Those are carnal things. Money is mundane thing, children are mundane things, wife, or husband is carnal, motor cars, wealth etc, are carnal things. Those are not the things you are told to ask for. Do not pray for a wife because as you go out from here you may meet a damsel and you say woman, may we become husband and wife and immediately marriage is constituted. If you are a sister you need not pray to be married. Because little movement you make may end you up marrying without wasting time. So do not request for a child. Because as soon as you are intimate with a woman she will be pregnant. If you request for money you may not walk up to a mile where you will meet somebody requesting you to carry his load to somewhere, as you do this he gives you money. You can also be lucky meeting somebody who tells you to sweep for him; and on doing that he gives you money. Or somebody may require that you should cut the grass for him. And for doing that you are paid. Any leaf you touch brings money at the end of it. Do not request for such thing because it is not a good gift. It is mundane. It is death and that is not what you arc required to ask for.
2.2 Christ's disciples requested for the power of God to perform mighty feats
Have you seen how it is arranged, you are told to seek and ye shall find, you are told to knock and it shall be opened. You are told to ask and it shall be given unto you. What is it that you are asked to knock, seek and ask for? It is the Holy Spirit. Remember the disciples of Christ, when they were charged not to speak again in the name of Jesus Christ, that if they preach in Jesus' name they will be killed or imprisoned. The disciples congregated at one place and requested from God saying. God give power to your servants, give us power to heal the sick, to cleanse the leper, to raise the dead, restore sight to the blind and do mighty works so that your glory may be revealed. At that instance the house was shaken. God descended upon them and they spoke the word of God with boldness without fear. Did they fear the people again? They were imbued with the Holy Spirit entered into the synagogues, the offices, towns, squares, lanes, paths and all places and preached the word of God with boldness. The gift of the Holy Spirit is the greatest gift. They were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they preached the word of God with boldness. It did not end there. Also, amongst they that believed with one heart, and one spirit and one soul, did not count that which they own as theirs, they had all things in common. And so brethren realise that if somebody owns money in tonnes and even all the money in the world and has not the Holy Spirit, it does not profit him. Because if you have not the Holy Spirit in you, it will be impossible for you to realise a kobo out of your money to buy even garri. You will rather prefer getting a naira from somebody to buy a cup of garri instead of your money. And when you say God give me money so that I may use it in serving you. And I question, those God has bestowed with billions of naira what have they been able to do with it for man's benefit? Money is carnal. Sometimes you do not even touch the money. You do not eat at all, you are starved and you can remain there till you are dead. You will lie on one side dead and money on the other side dead also. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so is the wisdom of God more important than that of man.
2.3 Old age is a problem itself
Tree, and man, and fish, and money, and motor car, all the things you find around you are nothing. No matter how much money you own it has no benefit. No matter the multitude of people present, it has no use. If the fishes abound here, if the animals and trees fill this place it amounts to nothing. It is only the Holy Spirit which is life. The Holy Spirit is power, the Holy Spirit is the Lord, He gives life. He is joy. He is the wisdom of truth, He is the greatest of all gifts. I want to do a little arithmetic for you. If you say God gives life and good health. That is another request. God give me wife. God give me children. God give me money with which to take care of the children. Do you know what you are requesting for? What you have asked for, from God, all these things increase your sorrow. I want to prove to you as one proves a theorem in geometry and algebra. First of all, if God gives you life, you really know the troubles attached to being aged. If you live for so long it will reach a stage where your age mates have all died remaining you alone. You still not be able to see again, and your teeth will fall off, you could no more walk with your legs. Troubles and problems come unto you at this stage. That is why many aged people have been begging that the Father should cause them to go on transfer (die). The sufferings at old age are inexpressible. As you live long so you suffer. The sufferings that have come unto the aged has never been witnessed by Satan. All the sins committed by your family will face you. The ones committed by those in your district will face you. All the sins committed by your village members will face you. All the sins committed by your age mates will come back to you. And the sins of your friends, that of your forefathers will descend on you. Who else do you think will take this responsibility apart from you who is old? In this case can you sleep? Are you not requesting that God should give you life? That is life so receive it.
2.4 Good health is a problem of its own
Come back now to good health. You request that God should give you good health. Yes, God has given you good health. But this your brother is sick, another person at the same time is sick, another person has court case, another person is in lack, some other person has another form of problem. You have to attend to all these people because God has given you the good health to be up and doing. Where you are attending to one person here you are told that the other person is almost dead. When you go there, while there, you are told that another person at some other place needs your attention. It is you who requested for good health. Now what is the usefulness of your good health in this regard? You have to attend to the sick ones. You have to fend for their good. And in this case is your good health useful to you? Because they do not have good health but you have, and you have to take good care of them because you requested good health from God. Is that not what you requested from God?
2.5 The effect of marrying a wife
At mainland (Akwa Ibom State) if you go to somebody's house and ask the child where is your father, the child will reply that his father has gone to buy trouble. That in effect means he has gone to marry a wife. This is true because if you marry a wife, it means you are questing for trouble. Perhaps you have not been loquacious, you hardly get annoyed, you have not been having problems. But as soon as you go to marry, have you not invited trouble for yourself? You have sent invitation that trouble should come to you in a big way. If you go to marry a wife now it means you are deliberately going to buy trouble. When you begin to talk about the issue of wife here and there, is it that easy? Try your luck and see what shall be the result. As you have married and while trying to cope with the existing troubles your wife puts to bed a child. That means another trouble is added to the existing ones. You know what it means to own a child. And when the child comes with his trouble and you add that to that of the mother, you will know where you are. For owning that one child you have no cap again to wear. For owning one child you know what it costs you. It is not that easy. Is that not what you requested for?
2.6 Money and its problem
You requested, God give to give you money. And money comes to you. Think about what is involved in having money. You are likened to a store keeper. This person comes and makes request for money and you give. As he goes another person comes and if you refuse, he will tell you that you have given to somebody else that you must give also to him. Every person will come to you for money. If you refuse to give out money to them, they will wage war against you. Some may cause you to be inflicted with any type of sickness. And trouble will come from all directions. You know what it means for somebody to have money. If you have money, will you go out again? The fact remains that the family will look for you at all times. The elders of your village will look for you. During great occasions and launchings you are sought for. At the end you will be going into hiding in attempt to escape some invitation. But that may prove abortive because you will be discovered. Every Dick and Tom will look for you at all times. My friend, tell me what you will do in this case. You requested for money. These things do not give you peace, or love, or faith, or beauty, or handsomeness, or good health, or wisdom, or joy. They do not avail you anything apart from death, and problems.
2.7 The Holy Spirit is the only gift from above
The entire world is likened to a pond of water which stays at one place and does not move to any where. The entire world is static. Nobody knows where he goes to. And people always ask how much they will be paid monthly before they do anything. This explains why you find corruption, bribery, craftiness, and robbery in the world. You find that your wife will fight you to death. This is what you are looking for. How do you want to do it? But you have to request for the Holy Spirit. When you have the Holy Spirit you shall have all things. Because this is the greatest gift, that is the only gift from the hands of the Father. If you say God give me money; I want to tell you that he has no money. Because money is carnal, children are mundane, wife is carnal and all are from earth. If you want money it is only a matter of minting it with the minting machine. And when you operate the machine accordingly the money will come out for you. But the Holy Spirit is from the hands of the Father. It is the only gift from above. And it comes from God. The Holy Spirit is the only gift which embodies wisdom, power, peace, love, eternal life and good health. The Holy Spirit, when you have it, custodies beauty, or hansomeness. It has virtually everything for they that have. If you have the Holy Spirit you will not have any problem and you will sleep as you like without any problem. I often hear people say, I thank God immensely because he has given me children, and wife, money motor cars, houses and many other things. Those things do not avail you any good. Does God not give you the Holy Spirit? The first lesson will be now be read.
First Lesson: Matthew 7:7
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find knock, and it shall be opened unto you”
2.8 The inhabitants of the world suffer because they lack the Holy Spirit
You can now see that God, after creating the world handed not the key of all things unto man. Have you now realised how the wisdom of God is greater than that of man? If God, after creating man gave the Holy Spirit unto him it means you will not allow people to live. Of course you will be like him because you will not have any problem. Nobody will be sick, or poor, or hungry or dead. That is why he created all things, and he reserved the key which is the Holy Spirit with him. Everything is found here on earth, apart from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is what we lack. The Holy Spirit is what is lacking in the entire world. The whites and the blacks lack the Holy Spirit. The reason why people suffer, why others fall sick and die, why people are afflicted, which make people to ask what they come into the world to do, is because they lack the Holy Spirit. As soon as you have the Holy Spirit all your troubles are gone. The Holy Spirit is the gift of God. The Holy Spirit is that tree of life in the garden of Eden. God ordered that man (Adam and Eve) should be bundled out of the Garden of Eden, so that man will not discover the tree of life and eat of it and live forever. And man was bundled out of the Garden of Eden. From that time sufferings came upon man. The Holy Spirit is that tree of life. Our Lord Jesus Christ knows of it that was why he said if I go away He will come because Christ has seen the sufferings of man.
2.9 Anything you do attract one form of trouble or another
If you like dig out all the roots you know and swallow. There is no benefit for doing so. But rather, it is sufferings you have swallowed. If a certain black powder is injected into you at one place that is one trouble. If you swallow two tablets, that means two troubles you have called for yourself. Everything you do has its own problem attached to it. When you involve in doing these things, instead of them taking your trouble away they rather increase it. Whether it is root, or leaf or any form of concoction, it has no usefulness for you. If you drop it into your eyes you will become blind. All the things you will apply on you bring one form of trouble or another. There is no other way out of this predicament apart from the Holy Spirit. Have you heard what he says about the native doctors, the mermaid worshippers, the worshippers of ghost, the sorcerers, and whoever does anything connected with heathenism, that their reward is in the lake of fire that burns with brimstone. The punishment remained unchanged. Mere going to the native doctor's house means your trouble multiplies than it was before. Anything you do, any movement you make wrongly brings one form of trouble or another. The Holy Spirit is the only gift from above.
If you argue that you want to help yourself, that you are going to where you think you will be protected, you get enrolled in any secret society, you are given finger ring, and books are read, and another thing to swallow, by so doing you are finished. If you indulge in this type of act there is no salvation for you and that means death itself. In this case there is no way out for you to escape the punishment that goes with it. And so brethren God requires that we should ask for the Holy Spirit. When you have the Holy Spirit whether you are sick, or whether you are poor, or you lack love, or wisdom, or whether you did not know God etc; as soon as you have the Holy Spirit you are on top of the world. Let our second lesson be read so that you may know what you are told to ask for. Because if something happens and you begin to ask God for money, let me do this or that, or that your mother is in hades and has forgotten you. I ask you, where is she? When your mother was alive what did she do? Listen attentively to our second lesson and hear the only thing you can boast in. Do not boast in money, or man, or in any carnal thing, because the mundane thing is vanity. You have to boast in the Holy Spirit, when you have the Holy Spirit you walk boldly wherever you go.

2.10 The Holy Spirit is everything to every man
Brethren have you heard the scriptures? If you do not have the Holy Spirit how do you preach? If you lack the Holy Spirit how do you have money, where will you get power and wisdom from? If you do not have the Holy Spirit from where do you have peace, from where do you have love, how will you have power and ability? It means you are empty. Upon the numerous sins that abound in the world, no church denomination, or prayer house has put into practice the word of God; There is no government or person that has practiced the words of God. Who has told them the word of God? They are eluded of the word of God because they do not have the Holy Spirit. You go into the University and spend twenty years learning. What are you going there to learn? When you do not have the Holy Spirit one wonders what you are learning there for twenty years. Because the Holy Spirit is the word of God. The Holy Spirit is power the Holy Spirit is love, the Holy Spirit is patience, the Holy Spirit is God; the Holy Spirit is the Doctor, He is the maker of heaven and earth and the fullness thereof. The Holy Spirit is the kingdom of God. He is everything to every man. The Holy Spirit is the healer. The Holy Spirit is the midwife. The Holy Spirit is the surgeon. He is the medical doctor, He is the nurse. The Holy Spirit is the Police, He is the lawyer, He is the judge; the Holy Spirit is the magistrate, the Holy Spirit is the educationist; He is the treasurer; the Holy Spirit is the love. The Holy Spirit is everything to every man. The Holy Spirit is man. He is woman; the Holy Spirit is the Father, He is the mother. The Holy Spirit is wisdom. He is life; He is good health, the Holy Spirit is beauty and handsomeness. The Holy Spirit is everything you are thinking of. He changes us. Therefore you have no problem. If you have the Holy Spirit there is no other thing that remains. When you have the Holy Spirit you will be filled with joy, you will be beautiful and handsome. You will feel happy with good health. You will have no need for any other thing because the Holy Spirit will be your tablet. He will be your wealth; He uses your motor car, your money, your ship and He is everything sufficient for you. As soon as you possess the Holy Spirit that is all you need in life. The disciples of Christ before that time were suffering. But as soon as they received the Holy Spirit they preached so well that people who owned lands sold then out and they who had properties sold them out and proceeds were kept at the apostles' feet and they had all things in common. Realise that when you have the Holy Spirit money will be ready for you; man and everything will be waiting at the corner for you.
2.11 If you have the Holy Spirit nothing has dominion over you
Whoever has the Holy Spirit is beyond destruction. If you have the Holy Spirit and somebody fires a gun at you, it shall not hurt you. If you have the Holy Spirit matchet or diabology can do you no harm and nobody can harm you. Death itself has no dominion over you when you have the Holy Spirit. If you have the Holy Spirit it means sickness, or lack, or sleep has no dominion over you. There is no person who can challenge you if you have the Holy Spirit. If you have the Holy Spirit what do you do with money, or house, or farm, or motor car, or English language, or man, or any other thing because the Holy Spirit is everything and in everything. He is everything to man. He is joy, He is peace; He is good health; and if you have the Holy Spirit you will remain young at all times. Because there will be no sickness or lack for you; there will be no temptation, or sorrow, or lamentation for you. If you have the Holy Spirit you will walk with boldness wherever you go; you will remain happy because He is the word and He speaks the word. He is the ultimate power. The Holy Spirit rules over heaven and earth.
2.12 If you possess the Holy Spirit there is no occasion of stumbling for you
The only thing you can boast in is the Holy Spirit because He shall endure for ever. There is no disappointment in Him. If you have the Holy Spirit you have no problem wherever you go to. If you want money He will become money for you. If you want a worker he will become a worker for you. The Holy Spirit is the wisdom you want. He is the truth for you. He speaks the word and He does His word. He is the house you live; He is good health for you; He takes care of you. When you have the Holy Spirit there shall be no occasion of stumbling for you. You have no confrontation wherever you go because you will operate freely.
What do you go to do in the hospital when the Holy Spirit as the greatest doctor is there for you? What do you go to do in the prison yard when He is the Head of prisons? What do you go to do in the market when the Holy Spirit is the market for you? He is the controller of everything. He controls your life, and beauty or hand-someness. He controls your good health. He controls all wisdom, and peace, and power, and love, and life and everything in heaven and on earth. In Him there is no old age, there is no frustration. In him there is no sickness or death for you are not afflicted in any way. If you have the Holy Spirit you can walk into anywhere boldly and confidently without any fright or weakness. If you have Him there is no tribulation for you; there is no deceit in your ways. And if you have the Holy Spirit there is no occasion of stumbling for you. Why is it so? The answer is that it is His work. He does it untiringly and He is not weary for ever.
2.13 When things are tough call upon him.
The Christ students have it in their song that when things are tougher than you can endure you should call on Him. And so when things are beyond your powers call on Him. Recall to mind the apostles, when things became tougher than they could bear they called on Him that He should come around and stretch forth his hands and fill them with his power and cause the blind to see; the dumb to speak, the deaf to hear, the lame to walk, the dead to rise and do greater works so that His glory may be revealed. And I question; did He not hearken and do as they requested? He did. And so when you are confronted, you have to call on Him that He should come and adorn His children and that He should get into the world and heal the sick and do miracles. As soon as He descends like a heavy down pour on you that will be the end to all trouble.
The kingdom of God is the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is the ultimate power which exists in this kingdom. The whole world attests that there is power in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star. The power is the Holy Spirit. The wisdom which exists here is the Holy Spirit. Healing is done by the Holy Spirit. And people are referred to Brotherhood and go to school without their fathers having any money. You begin to ask how that is possible? How can it not be possible when the Holy Spirit is at work. The Holy Spirit is school. He is a child to you; He is motor car. The Holy Spirit is everything to every man. He heals your sickness; He is beauty and handsomeness; He is good health, He does virtually everything and you have no problem.
2.14 He is omnipresent
The Christ students have a song which says, He has come in a secret way and yet the world is looking for Him. This is true, He has come indeed. His coming has eluded the world. His coming has eluded you also. The people of the world attest to the fact that there is power. What has caused a lot of people including you, to be surprised is this, that the Leader is at Calabar and does not move to anywhere. But if you go to America, or India you will find him there. If you go into the water He is there, and the work goes on accordingly. And there is something underneath? Since you were born have you heard of any man, have you read in recorded history that there is a man who is stationary at one place and operate all over the world? Moses moved from place to place. Our Lord Jesus Christ moved from place to place. The Pope; the Arch Bishop of Canterbury and every religious leader will move from place to place. But here is a man, stationed at 34 Ambo Street, Calabar, and operate throughout the world. These people who are moving from place to place what have they been able to accomplish? They have not done anything. But what about this Being who does not move to any where, what has he not done? The Holy Spirit is in the sun, on the moon, in the stars, in the water, under the earth, in the forest, in the hades and; He is inside your body, He is in your house; He goes with you along the street. He is with you in your dreamland. He exists larvishly everywhere. It does not require candle, or Bible, or hymn book, or holy oil, or your money. You remain as you are and as soon as you have the Holy Spirit that is all. You will walk boldly with pride and gently. He does not charge you any kobo. And whatever you ask of Him He does it. And so brethren let our golden text be read. Because the Holy Spirit is the greatest gift from God. When you have it, you are saved, you have peace and eternal life. Apart from the gift of the Holy Spirit all other gifts lead to death. Let our golden text be read.
Golden Text: James 1 : 17
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the Father of Lights with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning”
2.15 The Holy Spirit gives eternal life.
Brethren have you heard that? I have told you that the wages of sin is death. When you say O! God give me a "child or God give me a wife"; realise that you are requesting for death. Or you ask God, please give me good health, and power, and wealth, and house. I want to assure you that all what you ask for lead to death. But the gift of God is eternal life. If you request from God the Holy Spirit it means you are requesting for the gift of God which is eternal life. And when you have the Holy Spirit you shall have no problem but all other mundane gifts mean problems and death. You are all witnesses to the fact that I have never gone to the guest house, I have never gone to any of such places. I do not even know where they could be found. But I remain here in my little corner. Even though I should remain here for the next twenty years there is no problem. Because the Father is doing His work. He does all the works. There is no problem. But in the world, is there no problem?
2.16 He gives you double protection
Those who saw me last week could testify that I was older then than now. Today I am very young. Next week I shall be younger. Next year I shall remain young. The issue of my being young is a daily affair. This is neither done by any man or myself. But if you call OIumba OIumba Obu, I will come out and tell you here is the small boy. Who is doing these works? It is the Father: But in your own case you have armed police men, soldiers and security guards. But incidentally you are killed with your soldiers, and armed policemen. But in this case the Holy Spirit protects you, and your family, your house; whether you are inside a car, or ship, or aeroplane, He takes care of you wherever you go to. He protects your children. He heals you of your infirmity. He squashed your cases in court, He heals you while in the hospital; He protects you while in the market square, or in your shop, or in your farm and He does everything for you. He knows everything, He is sufficient unto all. What do you need to tell him. If you go forward or backward it is himself that you will see. He is under your bed and nobody knocks your head any longer.
2.17 The perfect gift of God
The Holy Spirit is the only perfect gift from the hands of the Father. The Holy Spirit is eternal life. It is not that which will go away at a certain time. You need not express, O! I have forgotten Him at home; or that let Him go and come back. No! He is ever ready. He gives you peace, and joy. He is love, and mercy, and wealth: He is good health; He is beauty and handsomeness. He walks. He sits; He does not sleep nor slumber. Ask for the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that you are required to ask, and seek; and you are also told to knock for Him. You are not told to ask for money because money is carnal. All what you continue to request from the Father, when you say Father give me money, or child, or this or that, have you not realised that these things lead to death? Ask for the Holy Spirit. What the Father has to give you is the Holy Spirit. As soon as you possess the Holy Spirit you have motor car, and good health and beauty or handsomeness, and life, and peace, and eternal life. The Holy Spirit is the gift of God and if you possess you have what is greater than the world.
2.18 Who is that man at a lonely corner?
Wait and ponder a moment over this issue. Somebody does not use concoction or diabolic medium or charm. He has no deputy. He does not do anything against anybody, but the people are attacking him. Every person in the world, the spirits, powers and principalities, the great and small, are making noise that the same person should be put away. But the young man sits at His little corner unshaken and unruffled. But at the end he fought and conquered. What do you think about this type of a man. At all times He says, Peace! Peace! Peace! At all times He expresses love, and tells the truth, and expresses mercy, and joy and the joy abounds everywhere. What do you think about these things? I want you to tell me whether all these are done by man. Is this the work of man, or man's wisdom? This is the manifestation of the Holy Spirit whose story you have been hearing. He operates everywhere. If you enter the aircraft He is there; if you go to America you will find Him there. He exists everywhere and has taken dominion all over the world. He is that kingdom which king Nebuchadnezzar dreamt of and interpreted by Daniel, that kingdoms shall come and pass away but a certain kingdom shall come which will endure for ever. This is that kingdom prophesied about long ago. Right from today knock, seek and ask for the Holy Spirit and it shall be given unto you. Do not go to beg from somebody of the Holy Spirit. But ask of Him and He shall give to you. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit of God you will have all things and your eyes will be opened, your sickness will be healed; your lack will be taken away; your sufferings will also be taken away. Because He is, and He rules over heaven and earth.
2.19 He has come and has taken dominion
Our Lord Jesus Christ had seen these things before he said it is expedient I go away, because there is no person, spirit, or angel who can accomplish this task. The Son cannot do this work. That was why He said it is expedient that I go away so that He may come. If He had not come who would have been able to do this work? As he has come is the work not done? He has done His work and has glorified Himself. Have you seen the long suffering of God? He allowed the people to indulge in all forms of acts they pleased and display their power as they pleased and do many other things but within a twinkle of an eye He descends into his world and scatters all things and renders everything powerless and useless and finally takes dominion.
