Hymn 39

VERSE 1
Jesus Christ, the same yesterday
Today, tomorrow and forever
Immortal, invincible God
Most blessed, Most Glorious Lord and king
He was in the beginning, is now, and
Ever shall reign victoriously
He is the light that brightens all our darkness
He is in the world but the world knows Him not.

VERSE 2
Here on this earth, in flesh and blood
He comes but to dwell among His own
Yet, His own receiveth Him not
Calling Him names, such as Beelzebub
But in compassion, He forgives them all
Let the chosen of His kingdom
Glory, honour and praises to His name bring
For His mercy endureth forever more.

VERSE 3
That Jesus Christ is here again
With a new name known to His chosen
Wondrous name on earth and heaven
Greatest name of all the names above
Written on His thigh and on His garment
The king of kings and Lord of Lords
The world to rule triumphantly with a rod
Every knee shall bow, all tongues confess His name.

VERSE 4
Brotherhood of the cross and star
The new name of God’s Kingdom on earth
The new Jerusalem of God
Revealed to John the Divine, fulfilled
Lo! Olumba, the Sole Spiritual Head
Is the King of the new Kingdom
The Teacher and Leader of the universe
Praise, O! praise Him, all ye men of God on earth.
