Hymn 555

VERSE 1
O! Supreme light that shines aright,
The word of God, the Holy Dove,
In Thy radiance may we live,
That we in Thee be bright.

VERSE 2
O! may we lean on Thee alone,
Not on our fake understanding,
Thus we on a rock standing,
Can claim God as our own.

VERSE 3
Let them who claim a trust in Thee,
Neglect not the sure foundation,
The sole way of salvation
For man is in the word.

VERSE 4
None can go unto the Father,
But through His Dear Begotten Son,
None can truly claim the Son,
Who keeps the word afar.

VERSE 5
If then the word supports our deeds,
Who therefore can stand against us?
Thousands foes shall suffer loss
As God's for us indeed.

Amen
