VERSE 1
Ye children, the Lord thus thee command
To listen to both your parents always
From death, ye may be free.

VERSE 2
‘Tis a decree of the Lord of all
Respect, offer well to both your parents
well with Thee, it may be.

VERSE 3
Advice from the wise elders receive
The correct path, that thou mayest walk on
A righteous life to love.

VERSE 4
The blessings on earth spring forth, O! man
From thy father and also thy mother
Honour them and be blessed.

VERSE 5
O! ye parents, heed the Lord’s command
Treat them with love and with admonition
Teach them the Lord to fear.
