    HE LEFT HIS GLORIOUS THRONE

    VERSE 1
    He left His glorious throne
    The Lord came down on earth
    He hung on calv’ry tree for us
    Shedding His innocent blood.

    VERSE 2
    That aweful death of His
    Brought redemption to man
    From satan’s bondage man released
    And gives salvation to man.

    VERSE 3
    Oh! that gruesome disgrace
    They slapped Him on the face
    Even when they spat on the Lord
    He did not utter a word.

    VERSE 4
    A crown of thorns, He wore;
    Behold His side was pierced;
    He suffered for sinners like me
    And by His stripes we are healed.

    VERSE 5
    The suffering on the Cross
    Patiently He did bear,
    He pleaded “Father, please forgive,
    For they know not what they do”.

    VERSE 6
    His blood has washed us clean
    Brings forgiveness for sin,
    A saving grace from pangs of death,
    Restores communion with God.

    Amen
