Hymn 688

VERSE 1
The Lord, who on the cross, was nailed,
And who descended into hell,
Has risen indeed as He said;
The Lord has conquered death.

VERSE 2
The Lord, while hanging on the Cross,
Pleaded with the Father, saying,
'Forgive, they know not what they do';
His love for all was dear.

VERSE 3
His death has brought us redemption;
And by His stripes have we been saved;
His blood gives us redeeming grace;
The Lord indeed is good.

VERSE 4
From death, when the Lord had risen,
Announced He, to His disciples,
‘All pow’r in heaven and on earth
Has been given to me’.
