Hymn 753

VERSE 1
Thank you Lord for the sweet gospel
That comes from your high throne of peace
May the words live in us like salt of life
To season our bodies and our souls

VERSE 2
This gospel of God is our hope
It is the message of goodwill
Given us from your innermost free will
To rebuild and strengthen us for good.

VERSE 3
We do not deserve this favour
Done to us by Almighty God
Condescending to come and live with men
To teach and mould us as His remnants.

VERSE 4
For nothing have we in return
These wonderful words of our Lord
Given unto us from the throne of God
Words of life, words of peace and of joy.

Amen
