Hymn 781

VERSE 1
Real goodness on charity depends;
Charity profiteth every one;
All things were made by Almighty God
By charity divine.

VERSE 2
All mountains, by prayers can be moved ;
Tongues of men and angels can be used;
But in the absence of charity,
Every thing is but vain.

VERSE 3
Charity suffereth long enough,
Not ill-mannered, not jealous, not proud,
Against a neighbour, planneth no ill
It is patient and kind.

VERSE 4
As heaven is higher than the earth
So is the Lord’s charity to man,
This charity is Almighty God
Accessible to all.

Amen
