Hymn 783

VERSE 1
The word of God’s the light of the world
Shining on the path of the righteous;
All things were created by the word;
Our existence is derived from it.

VERSE 2
The word of God darkness dissipates;
Our enemies are dismayed by it;
The faithful who come to the Father,
Are fit and sanctified by the word.

VERSE 3
The word of God’s the Holy Spirit,
Now in this age abiding with men;
Men and angels use this very word,
Performing the decrees of the Lord.

Amen
