Hymn 804

VERSE 1
Thy word is given to us O! Lord,
The message of salvation:
The bread of life truly is Thy word,
That does feed our hungry souls.

Refrain
Thee, we beseech, cleanse us from guilt,
By Thy word O! Lord:
Thy word is true and Thou art true.

VERSE 2
Let Thy word be unto us the light,
That shines well on all our ways,
And henceforth, our lives made so to shine,
To help us conquerors be.

VERSE 3
Let Thy word be to us the mirror,
That reflects on us, our deeds,
Thus we would guard and straighten our ways,
And escape Thy wrath, O! God.

VERSE 4
By Thy words offered to us, may we
Examine our ways of life,
Ceasing from life that, us, profit nought,
But growing zealous in love.

Amen
