Hymn 811

VERSE 1
The word had existed already
Before the beginning of the world
The word was the source of life and the light.

VERSE 2
By the word were all things created,
Both in heaven and on earth as well
For nothing can exist without the word.

VERSE 3
The word is actual life of mankind;
In sickness and also in distress
This divine word revitalizes all.

VERSE 4
Assimilate the word of the Lord
Since from His words proceeds perfect peace;
The Lord uses the word for all His works.
