Hymn 917

VERSE 1
To Thee I give all praises, Lord
Who have kept me safely throughout the day,
Through the plains and valleys; I pray Thee Father
Protect me till the morning comes.

VERSE 2
Against the men of evil thoughts,
Protect me Lord throughout the silent hours
This night, and from perils: As I go to rest,
I do commit myself to Thee.

VERSE 3
Angels of Thine, O! Lord, I pray,
Should stand by me side by side on my bed,
To sing me lullaby cool, and soft and low,
While dreaming of Thee all the night.

VERSE 4
Thine is the night O! Lord, my God,
Keep Thy grace within my heart while I sleep;
By my guard, peacefully guard me and my friends
From fears and dangers of the night.

VERSE 5
Strengthen and confirm Thy people,
Convert the wicked, restore the dying,
And grant relief and peace of mind to the sick:
Be with us till the morning comes.
