VERSE 1
Draw me nearer to Thee, nearer unto the cross
Let me be in spirit at all times
Remove from me things that weakens spirit and soul
Let me be a child of light.
VERSE 2
Draw me nearer in the time of weakness to Thee
Draw me nearer in sickness to Thee
The continuous burden of my flesh is pulling
Me backward O! Lord from Thee.
VERSE 3
Convince my soul O! Lord that I’m nearer to Thee
And satan will never get to me
Keep me away from the trap of this world and greed
With Thee always, I’ll be safe.
Amen
