See the sorrow on the cross
Christ was nailed on the cross for us
In bitter anguish, He was slain
Yet He pleaded ‘cause of love.

Behold His loving kindness
Descending from His throne on high
Humbled Himself, yet unto death
For our sake, He bore the shame.

See the sorrow and the pain
See the agony on His face
Blood of redemption, blood of peace
Shed for every one to live.

Behold the Christ and Saviour
The Redeemer was scorched and mocked
