VERSE 1
The Lord was slain on calvary
He suffered great pain for you and me
He was tortured, also nailed to the cross
Just because of you and me.
VERSE 2
They put on Him a scarlet robe
They parted His garment among them,
They spat on Him and speared Him by His side
All because of you and me.
VERSE 3
Because of us our Lord was slain
His blood has set man free from slavery
Now we are free, salvation is given
Let’s rejoice and sing to God.
