VERSE 1
On earth, the Saviour came, to save
My soul from sin, to set me free;
There on the cross His life He gave,
Thus, gives me life so full and free.

VERSE 2
On the Cross He my burden bore,
Under a crown of thorns, weeping;
Wonderful love, Saviour so dear,
Spilt His blood, poor sinners to win.

VERSE 3
Upon the tree of Calvary,
Neglecting cost and shame involved,
The Lord, in love, pleading for me
To save me from death and slavery.

VERSE 4
By the cross of the Lord, I knelt,
To let His dropping blood cleanse me
My sorrows cease, my wounds to heal,
And thus with God me reconcile.
