    HE LEFT HIS THRONE ON HIGH

    VERSE 1
    He left His Throne on high;
    To save mankind He came;
    On calv'ry tree He died for us,
    And with His blood, redeemed us.

    VERSE 2
    Pilate the earthly judge,
    Saw nothing vile in Him;
    The Jews, shouted crucify Him,
    For He says He is the Lord.

    VERSE 3
    Yet on that Cross He spoke
    These words of love for us;
    "Father forgive them", pleaded He,
    "For they know not what they do.

    VERSE 4
    At the nineth hour, same day,
    With a loud voice, He cried,
    And straight way yielded up the ghost;
    Darkness then covered the earth.

    Amen
