Hymn 663

VERSE 1
Glad Easter morning, when the Saviour conquered death,
Rose o'er the tomb triumphantly from the dead;
Let shouts of hallelujah, hosanna, fill earth and sky;
Sun of righteousness from the depth ascended on high.

VERSE 2
O blessed morning that fulfils the Christians' hope,
When Christ our Lord laid aside the cloak of death,
So shall we in Him with bodies incorruptible rise,
For this great cause, He laid His life for a sacrifice.

VERSE 3
O! happy morning, we the chosen do rejoice,
In songs of praise to God with blended voices,
Who by His love and mercy, once again, we see this day
When Christ our Saviour gave us hope, and banished despair.

Amen
