Hymn 744

VERSE 1
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves;
But give ye place unto wrath of God;
He will repay, vengeance is His,
Live ye in peace with every one.

VERSE 2
If your enemy thirsts, give him drink;
If your enemy hungers, feed him;
Thus if he is naked, clothe him,
And bless them that persecute you.

VERSE 3
Humble yourself, be not over come
By evil, but rather dwell in peace,
By the instructions of the Lord;
His promises will be fulfilled.

VERSE 4
Strive always to do that which is good
Know this that you reap what e’er you sow
Shun evil while you are yet young
Good harvest awaits you at last.

Amen
