Hymn 791

VERSE 1
By word, both heaven and earth were made
The word was always with the Father
And the word was by itself the Father.

VERSE 2
The Lord used the word to make all things
Everything in heaven and the earth,
Mountains and the seas were made by the word.

VERSE 3
Daily, the Lord giveth us His word,
Which cleanses and strengthens us in life;
The life which the Lord has given us all.

VERSE 4
Wherefore let us not abuse the word
Nor give heed to those speaking amiss,
Rather let us try to speak pleasantly.

VERSE 5
May we by our words, deeds and life style
Do to all, what we wish done for us,
For all have the same spirit of the word.

Amen
