Hymn 792

VERSE 1
In the beginning was the word
The Word was with God
Who made all things by the Word
And the Word was God.

VERSE 2
The same was in the beginning
The Word made all things
Without Him was nothing made
Which was ever made.

VERSE 3
In Him was life, and lo! the life
Was the light of men
In darkness shineth the light
Uncomprehended.

VERSE 4
Yea! The word, made flesh, dwells with Men
All who Him receive
Them gives He pow’r to remain
E’er with Him as sons.

VERSE 5
The true light, which leads every man
That comes to the world
Came unto His own as man
But was ne’er received.

Amen
