Hymn 877

VERSE 1
We thank Thee for the sleep so sweet.
Thou Lord, hath not left us by night,
To tread the path of life above.
Guide us through' this new day.

VERSE 2
We thank Thee, Thou hast shown the light,
To shine so bright out of darkness,
And wakened us to praise Thy name
We ask for Thy mercy.

VERSE 3
We thank Thee Lord, accept our pray'rs;
Children of the light and of day,
The heirs of Thy inheritance,
We plead to be, O! Lord.

VERSE 4
We thank Thee Lord, control our thoughts,
Our words and deeds, strengthen our faith;
Our waywardness rebuke by grace,
That we may feel Thee more.

VERSE 5
We thank Thee for our kith and kin,
Brethren so dear we live to love;
Into our hearts implant goodwill,
Selfish desire, banish.

Amen
