Hymn 919

VERSE 1
Lord in this hour of sleep and peace
As darkness deepens all through the night,
Send Thy angels from heaven’s height,
Watch o’er us till break of day.

VERSE 2
Make Thy bossom our resting place
In sweet slumber as we lie in bed
While Thy mighty hands the pillow,
Which we need to rest our heads.

VERSE 3
In this cheerless night, O! My God,
Let Thy warmth of life flow in us all,
That in Thee our sleep be peaceful;
Let Thy angels be our guard.

Amen
