VERSE 1
Come, let us sing the praise of God
For love and grace He has for us
He cares for us throughout the day
And guards throughout the night.

VERSE 2
This dark and cheerless night, we plead
Protect Thy people while they sleep
Let not the evil ones come nigh
Thy people while asleep.

VERSE 3
May on Thy breast, they take their rest
Thy pow’rful hand to hold them fast
Let Satan not have dominion
Over Thy people, Lord

VERSE 4
Though the watchman watches at night
Without Thee, watches he in vain
Be Thou the great watchman for us
Watch o’er Thy people here.
