VERSE 1
Let Thy Spirit, dear Lord of light,
Be our stay throughout the night;
While we are in nature's second course,
Protect us till break of day.

VERSE 2
Reveal Thyself this night, dear Lord,
Since night is Thy working time,
That our souls may see Thee as Thou art,
While our flesh also be changed.

VERSE 3
In this night, we beseech Thee Lord,
Cast out fear from our domain;
May we wake in gladness in the morn,
In Thy name alone we pray.

VERSE 4
Behold the moon and all the stars,
Giving their brightness by night,
All indicate the work of Thy hands.
Performed only in the night.

VERSE 5
Almighty God our Creator,
Thou who sleepest not at all,
May we never suffer corruption,
From the power of darkness.
