VERSE 1
My heart crieth unto Thee,
O! great Father, Olumba;
Cast me not away from Thee,
Hearken, dear Lord to my pray'r.

VERSE 2
In this silent night I come,
Bending low before Thy feet,
Be, Thou, Lord, my safest guard,
And my keeper while I sleep.

VERSE 3
My soul yearns truly for Thee;
Fill me with Spirit divine;
Thee, I need as my fortress,
My strong tower of defence.

VERSE 4
Protect me at night, I pray,
Be my comfort while I sleep
Shield me with Thy mighty wings,
Till past is the doleful night.
