VERSE 1
Above, great shining star appears
In th east, whence cometh the sun
The star that shows a King is born
To comfort all those that do mourn.
VERSE 2
On my path, may this bright star shine
And lead, as it did the wise men,
Safely to where the Lord is born,
That I, too, may offer my gift.
VERSE 3
O! Thou angel of good tidings
As shepherds, bring the news to me
And I will the Christ’s message bear
And praise the name of God so dear.
VERSE 4
Let my weary soul now rejoice
As chain of bondage is broken
For the Saviour to us is born
The angel brought this news of joy.
VERSE 5
Join, multitude of heav’nly host,
In offering songs of praise to God
Glory to God in the highest,
Good will to men and peace on earth.
Amen
