Hymn 760

VERSE 1
We thank Thee for words of life,
Imparted to us here;
The words are full of spirit,
Dwelling in the hearts of men.

VERSE 2
Daily, Thy word, Lord, is life
Offered to Thy chosen;
Burning flames that purify,
All unrighteouness and sins.

VERSE 3
Thy Holy Word is the seed,
That Thy love is casting;
With happiness we receive:
Give us pow'r to practise same.

VERSE 4
Olumba, the Good Father,
Nothing is above Thee;
May the gospel be water,
To wash our hearts clean from vice.

VERSE 5
Father, we plead, may Thy word
In all our hearts abide,
That in strife and temptation
Thy word may win us vict'ry.

Amen
