Hymn 929

VERSE 1
O! Lord may Thou this eventide
Grant that we in peace may abide
That when past is the darkness night
We glory in Thy might.

VERSE 2
Our joy is full in Thee alone,
Thou who carest for everyone
And givest protection in life.
We all depend on Thee.

VERSE 3
Protect us by Thy mighty hand,
From fears and terrors of the night;
Thy angelic host, we implore,
To guard and keep us safe.

VERSE 4
Cover us with Thy mighty wings;
By Thy love wash away our sins;
In dreams we see Thy Holy face;
With Thee we take our place.

VERSE 5
While we sleep with Thee, Lord, this night,
In Thy bosom we take our rest;
May we see the new day with Thee;
Grant us new life, we pray.

Amen
