VERSE 1
As darkness deepens, O! Lord, I beseech Thee,
Let Thy presence be felt around
In Thy power alone, Lord I trust.

VERSE 2
Most faithful Father, listen to my prayer;
In Thy mercy, grant my request;
Let not my transgression hinder me.

VERSE 3
Let Thy light, Dear Lord, dissipate the darkness
And dispel all my fears from me,
That through the night, I may sleep in peace.

VERSE 4
Guard and protect me, as the night grows darker,
Under the shadow of Thy wings,
And usher me to the break of day.
